Earth Day Art Contest

This contest is centered on Zion’s commitment to the elimination of bottled water in our café and retail store.

Artists are challenged to use facts surrounding plastics and theenvironmental harm behind disposable products to encourage visitors to consider reusable options.Students should submit wall-mountable pieces either 15”x15” or 31”x40”.

Prizes Include:

  • 1st Place: $250 cash prize! and A one-year entrance pass to all National Parks & A one-night stay at the Lodge (For up to 4 guests; single room-double/double occupancy; minor student must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian.)
  • 2nd Place: A one-night stay at the Lodge (For up to 4 guests; single room – double/double occupancy; minor student must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian.)
  • 3rd Place Dinner for two at the Red Rock Grill

The art from the 1st and 2nd place winners will be displayed at the Lodge to be seen by over 100,000 visitors!

All entries must include a signed release form.

CONTEST TERMS & CONDITIONS:

Pieces may be submitted to the Front Desk of the Lodge inside of Zion National Park from April 5 – April 12, 2014.
Submissions will be judged by guests of the Lodge. Selection of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will be subject to final approval from the National Park Service and Xanterra management.

You must be a high-school student (grades 9-12) to enter.
Student information (name, phone number, school and grade) must be listed on the reverse side of your submission.

All information presented by entrants must be factual in nature; inaccurate information will result in disqualification.
